About me.

girlplusbike is sometimes about bicycles... sometimes about other things.

My life began on the coast in the early 1980s, growing up in Wollongong and surrounded by beach, bushland and mountains. I spent six years living in Adelaide before I came to the Northern Territory in early 2012 and am loving life in Alice Springs.

I have been known to ride bicycles of varying description; sometimes for pleasure, sometimes to satisfy competitive urges, most often just to get from place to place.

I'm passionate about health, equity, discovery, adventure and finding beauty in the everyday.  And - of course - bicycles! I work in marketing and communications in the not-for-profit health sector and I'm studying law - a long, slow process that I'm aiming to complete by the time I'm 40.

At our house are two kelpies, three chooks and a veggie patch that we're enthusiastically trying to grow in the arid climate of Central Australia.

I love books, being outside, coffee, taking photos, art, sharing meals with friends, interiors, a good drop of wine, being a homebody, politics, a good discussion and having my thinking challenged.

Thanks for joining me here! I hope you stay a little while.

  3. Hi Emma! Would you be able to shoot me an email on sophie@viraladnetwork? I really want to talk to you about an Air New Zealand campaign with Viral Ad Network... but don't want to leave a big message here as I'm aware it already looks super spammy :(
    Many thanks! Sophie
