On Saturday afternoon we chucked the swag on the roof of the 4WD and headed out of town for a no-fuss overnight bush camp. Nothing but us, the swag, a fire, a steak sandwich and some books in the sandy Hugh River. I may have subjected Peter to rediscovering my final year English and reading T.S. Eliot poetry aloud. We were tucked up in bed by 7:30 (me lying awake, clearly too early to be sleeping!) and it was chilly but the ga-zillion stars made it all completely worthwhile. Such stillness, such quiet. Some quick bacon and eggs in the morning and we were on our way home, back in town by 10am. Perfect.
Linking up with Em at The Beetle Shack!
That looks and sounds like perfection!
