Before moving to Alice Springs, I lived in pretty much the cutest house, ever. For a couple of months I relished in city fringe living; walking the dogs through the lush green parklands, a fine selection of cafes close by, and a wide variety of flowers to pick from my (and neighbouring) garden. This cottage was everything a cottage should be. Bluestone front. Detached. White roses flowering behind white picket fence. High ceilings. Juliet courtyard. Modern living area at the back, with glass bi-fold doors opening onto the paved courtyard. And, wait for it, a loft. I may have lived like a pauper* but it was worth it to live like a pauper in such a wondrous little space. Only one thing was missing...and he was in Alice Springs. Here's a little snapshot of my short-lived cottage life.
[*EDIT: Pauper lifestyle invoked by most of my pay going to rent. Totally self-inflicted. Involved eating lots of pasta and tinned tuna.]
That place is perfection! My dream house is a bluestone cottage in Dulwich, although your old place looks pretty close to dream house material. Blair's dream house is a McMansion on the water. FAIL
