Winter walk in my neighbourhood.

I'm having some time off work so today I had the luxury of saddling up the kelpies and heading out for a late morning stroll. The winter sun was g.l.o.r.i.o.u.s. and I soon felt warm in my puffy vest and scarf. I love walking around the neighbourhood in the daytime, when the streets are quiet. It's a good opportunity to have a sticky beak at peoples' gardens, the different styles of architecture (from the whimsical to desert chic and everything in between - can anyone say colorbond?). I loved seeing all the projects in progress; there are some very creative people out there. Here's a couple of snaps from the iPhone - I'm actually suprised they're sharp given I had both hands full of leads with kelpies on the ends, and they don't like to sit still!

  1. A 'welcome' sign on the fence at the local school. There's also a sign saying 'werte', an Arrernte greeting.
  2. Pitched roof and colorbond at the school.
  3. View of Mt Gillen in the distance, and Spencer Hill on the right hand side.
  4. A yarn-bombed letterbox warmer. Typical Eastside hippies!
